Presiden Joko Widodo atau yang akrab disapa Jokowi siap menyatakan Indonesia akan segera memasuki status endemik Covid-19.Â
Pengumuman resmi diharapkan akan dilakukan dalam satu hingga dua minggu ke depan.Â
Dalam rapat di Kantor BPKP Jakarta Timur, Jokowi memastikan status endemik Covid-19 akan diumumkan bulan ini.Â
Dia menyoroti penurunan kasus Covid-19 di Indonesia sebagai faktor kunci dalam keputusan ini.Â
Kasus harian baru-baru ini menyusut menjadi hanya 217, dengan 10.200 kasus aktif. Selain itu, Indonesia telah memberikan 452 juta dosis vaksin Covid-19 yang mengesankan.Â
Dengan perkembangan positif tersebut, Jokowi menyatakan keyakinannya untuk bergerak maju dengan transisi.

Upaya negara dalam menahan penyebaran Covid-19 dan mencapai tingkat vaksinasi yang tinggi telah membuka jalan bagi transisi penting ini.
Keputusan Presiden mencabut status pandemi Covid-19 sejalan dengan keputusan Badan Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) yang mencabut status darurat pada 5 Mei 2023.Â
Menteri Koordinator Pembangunan Manusia dan Kebudayaan Muhadjir Effendy menuturkan, Presiden Jokowi akan mengumumkan secara langsung pencabutan status pandemi.Â
Meski pencabutan tidak akan segera terjadi, pemerintah sedang mempersiapkan langkah signifikan ini.Â
Keputusan Presiden mencerminkan kemajuan Indonesia dalam mengendalikan pandemi dan menandakan langkah menuju kenormalan baru.
Peralihan ke status endemik Covid-19 menandakan pergeseran fokus dari penahanan ke penanganan virus dalam jangka panjang.Â
